Second Pre-release of 1.0.3Thu June 17 11:53:28 1999
I've put up a pre-release of 1.0.3pre2 for your viewing pleasure.
This is very nearly the 1.0.3 release. There are still a few shakies in the documentation, but the rest seems to be ok.
New functionality includes the recipe() function and the -e and -E flags. Do a genpage -h for info.
Version 1.0.7 released.Sat Feb 19 19:45:23 2000
This is the official release of Genpage 1.0.7.

After a long hiatus, Genpage is finally back on track. 1.0.7 fixes many bugs, and adds several tweaks and some new functionailty. Be sure to read the documentation carefully as there are one or two changes that will probably break some sites, particularly in relation to the -I flag and recipes.

Please read the Changelog file for details of changes and bugfixes.

Version 1.0.5 released.Sat Jul 31 09:11:18 1999
This is the official release of Genpage 1.0.5. This is the first version of genpage that has proper and tested platform support for Win32 and MacOS as well as *NIX. VMS support is still outstanding. Other platforms may work with some judicious 'beating with a big stick' :)

Please read the Changelog file for details of changes and bugfixes.

Pre-release of 1.0.312 Jun 1999
I've put up a pre-release of 1.0.3 for your viewing pleasure.
The reason this is a pre-release is because I haven't finished updating this site, nor finished documentation, nor included all the recipes. (yet)
Please feel free to download and play, however there is one huge change in this version... the -t flag has changed functionality. It now specifies a filename only. -l is a new parameter specifying where the layout directory is situated. Templates are looked for here.
This change will break lots of stuff for you so be warned. (sorry!)
This page is no longer current... The documentation below is out of date. It will be fixed by the end of the weekend, and baring any showstoppers, the 1.0.3 release will go out next week.
If you feel you can get by just by reading the code and looking at the genpage distribution tree (genpage.conf etc) then by all means try out 1.0.3, however if not, don't touch it till I update the docs. :)))
Version 1.0.6 released.Wed Aug 04 12:11:18 1999
This is the official release of Genpage 1.0.6.

This is a quick release to catch an errata in 1.0.5.

If you put a %outputfile% tag in a content file the specified filename is used instead of the standard generated one. This allows genpage users to 'hard-code' filenames into content files.

Please read the Changelog file for details of changes and bugfixes.

Version 1.0.4 released.Thu Jun 24 23:23:20 1999
This is the official release of Genpage 1.0.4. This version of Genpage encompassed a good many bugfixes and enhancements, as well as the inclusion of yet more cool recipes contributed by Max Maischien.

I haven't broken anything this time around. In fact! I've tested it on Win32 for the first time to verify that all things work. (I'll do the same on MacOS as soon as my Mac monitor comes back from the shop.)

Please read the Changelog file for details of changes and bugfixes.

Genpage Mailinglists set up 05 June 1999
Better late than never with this news:

There are now two mailinglists for genpage.

  • genpage-announce is for announcements of new releases and fixes for genpage as well as news about developments and new recipes.
  • genpage-users is a mailinglist for general discussion of genpage, it's use and abuse and for general queries about problems etc.

You can subscribe by clicking on the links above or by sending a message with subscribe in the body to genpage-users(/announce)-request@dspsrv.com

  • Version 1.0.3 released.Sun Jun 20 02:39:31 1999
This is the official release of Genpage 1.0.3. This version of Genpage encompassed a good many bugfixes and enhancements, as well as the inclusion of a whole section of recipes contributed by several people.

NB: I've gone and done it again :) I've changed the behaviour of the -t command line switch. It now specifies a filename only for the default template, which is expected to be in a directory called layout under the site tree. This directory location can be modified by using the -l command line switch (or the 'layoutdir' parameter file entry).

Please read the Changelog file for details of changes and bugfixes.
